The Dalit and Black Lives Matter Symposium was co-hosted by Black Lives Matter, Boston and Boston Study Group to explore the dehumanizing caste system in India and the Dalit resistance. We looked at the historical linkages of Dalit-Black solidarity from India, South Africa to the Civil Rights Movement and Black Panther Party as well as linkages between the two modern liberation movements. This symposium consisted of political education, information about current local and transnational work, and imagining greater solidarity.
